Although drivable, and a lot of fun to drive, it is not legal to drive on a public street or highway. The difficulty was not finding a place to break down the rims, as there are a bunch of truck garages around the hwy, which is not far. The difficulty was in getting the wheels and tires to the truck tire place. One of the mounted wheels and tires probably do not fit in the back of my Fiat, except maybe one at a time. Using my Fiat, that would be 8 trips to the truck tire place. So, I got a mobile tire service, but he could not get the tires off the rims. There is anywhere from 20 years to 40 years of rust at the ring to rim connection. Four old tires take up a lot of space in my garage and space is one of the most precious things I don't have, so it was up to me to get the tires off the rims. I want to warn anyone who takes a tire off a rim by cutting it with a Sawzall, be ready to go to the dentist to get fillings refilled. It only took two trips to get the tire remains to a tire store that would dispose of them. If it was easy to put together a 75 year old truck, everybody would do it. Right?
