I used a cold chisel to slice thru the remaining ring of tire. I bought a harbor freight tire iron. Cheap but not hardened. I also bought the Ken brand which is more expensive, a better tool. The HF has a thinner tip that gets into the slots in the ring. Even though the Ken is much better, I always end up using the $7.00 tool. There are two slots and two tools are needed to keep the ring up while exposing the second slot. One you get the old tires off and the wheels blasted and powder coated, new tires go off and on easily. I used to tire shine to lube the ring and tires and the rings just slip right into place then the tire shine washed off and dries up
