I n the 1980’s I attended a conference in California when the air resources board (CARB) was formed. Flying into Los Angeles over the mountains always had a brown layer of smog you could really see from the air. The regulations were really strict, and applied all the way down to lawn mower engines. I remember wondering how the industry would respond.

Fast forward to today. California has chased away the biggest and best electric car manufacturer that chose California as it’s home base. Tesla is leaving because of high taxes, massive regulations, and a general feeling of not being appreciated.

Makes sense, huh?
