Todd,

Yes, the post hole digger runs off of the rear PTO. It actually works better than a post hole digger on a tractor. The PTO on the Power-Wagon can be reversed if you get the auger stuck in the ground, and then just back it right out of the hole.

That is an OLD article. It was an honor for me that renowned author Jim Allen chose my truck for the basis of that particular FourWheeler feature. Jim is the Indiana Jones of the antique truck world. He has quite a catalog of books and articles he has written.

There is a lot of information archived at t137.com on Power-Wagons in general. Including the Monroe 3-Point Lift that lifts, lowers, transports, and attaches the post hole digger to the truck. Thanks to Phil Street of t137.com for hosting:

If you would like to learn more about the Monroe Lift and assorted Newgren farm equipment that was available directly from Dodge for use with the Power-Wagon, I teamed with Barry Thomas over at farmjeep.com to author five articles on the subject for The Dispatcher Magazine.

These magazine articles have been reprinted by permission and reside on farmjeep.com:
