If it were me, I would bolt the feet of the bracket to a heavy piece of steel to prevent distorting the spacing of the lower portion of the bracket.
Next, using a heavy hammer, strike down on the high spot to remove the high spot. Hold your good bracket against it to compare the shapes until you are happy.
No heat required.
