Window run channel

I'm having trouble getting the new flexible channel to stay in the door frame when I roll down the window. The door appears to have the appropriate clips but there is too much slack on either side to hold it tightly. Anyone have hints how to secure it? I didn't want to use glue or silicone in case it has to come out. Was thinking of small sheet metal screws set down deep.
