Late Model Front Turn Signal Question

67 WM300...on the front turn signals there is an orange front facing lens and a red rear facing lens. Guessing the orange is for the turn signal, what is red for? From what I can see, the housing is grounded though the grill, one wire for turn, is the other wire for emergency flashers(red)?
