i remember driving wreckers on donner summit in the late 1970s, (all dodges of course) a friend that worked for cal dot showed me a new idaho norland blower that would eat up a small car and discharge a four cyl engine without slowing down! he said he personally chewed up a half dozen vw beetles in one winter! it cut a 10ft wide by 10 ft high swath with adjustable edge knifes that could extend up to 18ft for slicing drifts! it averaged 8-10 mph! had 2 huge straight 8 diesels powering the hydraulic drives! they actually have bigger ones nowadays!
