I took new pump off and put old one on after shorting pin about .050 a little green bearing mount and staked both ends. I forgot to mention that at time of new pump i made up new hard line and factory Carter in line filter but used 1/4" line. I replaced this with 5/16" thinking smaller line more pressure. There was a distinct sound working these two pumps on table. Much higher sound and pressure on new one than old one. Started up and ran perfect with no over rich condition. No doubt it was over riding the needle and seat being the problem. This was O'Reilly auto parts fuel pump. Guess i will get a pressure regulator and save pump as spare. Thanks for tips.
