Awhile back, I posted a need for a sending unit for my 1958 W300M. Vaughn suggested VPW.
Called them and ordered same. Sure didn't look anything like the old one so I sent an email with pictures. Steve called me back and informed me that even though it looks completely different, it will work. I asked where the lock ring was and he informed me that it doesn't come with one and use the old one. Well, the old unit and the ring were so rusted that the mechanic had to pretty well destroy it to get it loose. Steve said he'd look for a used one. So, in case he comes up empty, I need a serviceable used lock ring or a new one. We're stuck until we solve this issue. Barring a lock ring, has anyone been successful with sort of alternate work-around? Thank in advance for any useable information, advice, or lock ring.
