Thanks for the input. I guess it is more common than I realized. I remembered reading about applying epoxy of the casting plugs on one model of carb or another which I guess had me thinking about a leak. I guess I will just install a cheap electric pump under the hood with a push button switch to use for Priming. I believe electric pumps will allow flow through when not running but I suppose I could get one of the check valves and make a bypass. I get tired of lugging gas cans for the mower so as an added bonus maybe I will add a valve and a hose to allow me to fill the mower off the scout tank. Easier to run to the corner and fill the scout also the mower uses more gas so it might stay fresher. I have talked about doing something like that for years anyway.
