on the old 8 / 10 ply ndt tires, 20psi is no different than 80psi! they are very stiff, no advantage to airing down like you would with radials. I once towed a parts pw over 70 miles at freeway speed on a tire that had a six inch hole in the sidewall! never heated up and looked fully aired up from the side! they were constructed to be able to drive on with basixcally no air in situations where safety was of greatest importance! there were also combat rated ndts that literally would run flat for miles without breaking down, but moderntechnology and solid innertubes have changed that aspect some.
