The axle is mounted under the springs, so you can’t do a spring over modification because they came that way.

If your talking about a spring lift, then it can only be done by new springs that are arched more and are a longer length. It could be done by having the old springs arched but that doesn’t work well as it will move the spring shackles out of position

The original front springs are basically flat with maybe a slight arc to them. The rears do have a slight arc. If you look at your spring shackles they should be very close to a vertical position. If the arc on the springs has been increased to lift the truck, the shackles will be off vertical and point towards the spring pack. My carryall had a 3” lift by modifying their arc of the original springs. It was so bad that the shackles were in a straight with the springs. The shackles can not swing with the spring movement in that position. In my case, all of the spring eyes were broken as the shackles were jammed into the spring rather than swinging in an arc. I had to replace all springs with the correct NOS ones.
