Someone at VPW recommended adding Sea Foam and a prescribed amount of Marvel Mystery oil to the fuel to avoid vapor lock. The idea being the MM Oil raises the boiling point of the fuel. I went with the heat shield for starters and have not had any further trouble with vapor lock. Granted I live in the Northeast but I do run the truck daily in the summer on dirt roads (farm work) and we do have plenty of days in the 90s.
