you are right on! you took the words out of my mouth! my 67 dodge W200 was bought new and had the timken, it looks the same as the np but has a timken id tag and a slightly different output bearing housing then the np-201, very clunky due to the shimming of bearings, (my dad always hated that, he tried for yeares to break it!) mine is still holding up and is heavier duty then the 205! my nephew has the truck now, over 400k miles on it! with factory 383. output gears are heavier, cc specs it as the 90000 series as some had the np version and some had the np version, the easiest way to tell is the 10 bolt pto opening on timken & np 201 vs the 6 bolt pto opening on the np 205 as well as aluminum bearing housings on the 69-71 205s..
