Heck of a beast, usually 4.88 gears. The transfer case is a divorced New Process 205 & the oil it takes is sometimes determined by the temperatures it operates in. Some use straight 30 or 50 weight, most go heavier (80,90,140,) but for certain don't use ATF. My 72 W200 with the Dana 70 front had Tracta Joints inside the closed knuckles. I think these have a fill plug & get 140 weight oil too.
