Blasting with soda is capable of removing one layer of old paint but I have no personal experience. I’ve only used soda in my sand blaster to clean aluminum and bronze parts. I have a dream of blasting the red paint (what’s left of it) off my ‘53 FFPW to reveal all of the original blue. It would take awhile with my equipment.
