i had same trouble with my 52, took pcv valve off, it was checked ok and the valve ok, so i tried to stick a piece of wire into the manifold...it was blocked, removed the carb and found heavy carbon build up blocking the hole, took a drill and ran it through while vacuuming the debris out, put her together and shes been running fine now for 35 years!
