I'm glad you mentioned that. I didn't know the M37 timing covers were different from the others, but I think some may have differences due to running thicker or thinner chain and sprockets.

I may just weld or bond a new pointer on it and locate it so that it points at the zero mark on the pulley when the #1 piston is at TDC. I'll have the head off because I'm assembling the engine as part of a rebuild.

In the end, I'll probably time it by vacuum initially and then check it against the timing light.
