You got that right. And the auto industry is training people that way.
I had to have the dealer search for a 6 speed when I bought my '06 Dodge 2500. Same thing when I bought my wife a new Honda a few years ago. She refused to have an automatic. She said "I won't know how to drive an automatic!" :)
