Another question this time with my cold start issue on the '48. First start up of day in shop with temp. never below 50 degrees. I had rebuilt carb some time back and it started perfect hot or cold after that. Now cold start is real problem with engine spinning with zero indication of combustion. This is with choke or no choke no difference. I have fire at plug with this first start up also fuel at carb and installed new fuel filters this week. Also put new set of plugs in it and compression is good. After it starts and i mean like 20 seconds or less it will settle at good idle and take throttle perfectly. A restart then will be as quick as you hit starter and remain as this all day long. Just when it sits overnight. I'm going to try a prime down carb in the morning but when it starts first time no smoke so not flooded but as i say no sign of anything then it hits.I have not checked points, condenser or coil as it was starting good up to this issue. I might try a M-37 known good carb and just hand throttle it to see if it is a problem there. Any help will be good.
