It’s really not that bad. Took me 3 hours with a gouging tip and grinder to remove everything on the one I did. The 6x6 hardware is only welded at the edges and there’s an airspace between them and the housing so you have SOME room for error with the torch. A bigger tip is better so you can move fast and not put too much heat into the axle. If/when it starts to get too hot, move to the other side. You can do the one on top of the pumpkin in 10 minutes beginning to end.
When you weld the perches in you can also clock the diff however you want if you’re modifying anything else in the drivetrain to get the angles right.
