I use Endura polyeurethane. No primer, straight on bare metal…works excellent. Cheap too…$40 for a quart. They will put it in fancy spray cans…whatever color you want but I just spray it myself. Never had an issue with it.
It’s basically just DuPont Imron except I like it better.
