you can. leave out the outer seal. they usually fail and you end up with oil in bearings anyway. the reason Chrysler designed the rear that way is for extreme off road side angles. keeping oil out of hub prevents all the diff oil from running out to hub and starving the diff.
Everything is engineered to great detail on these trucks for extreme environments.
