non directional are legal. they are not good in snow and ice, ok offroad but pack with mud easier than some other designs. if offroad and need traction and you air them down to 20 psi it will go anywhere.
better tread tires out there are
10.50 x 16 chevron tread. go faster too because they are around 2 or 3 inches taller than the 9.00s
11.00 x 16 michelin XL or XZL are even taller and radials. the XL is terrible in snow and ice. the xzl I have not tired but I guess better on ice than the xl
