I have owned a W500 19 years it has 688 gearing but also has the 20 inch wheels options am running 9.00-20 wheels at 60mph am running at 3200 rpm and at 65 running 3700 rpm it has the premium 318-3 motor 435 d3 4 speed the Polyhead 318 will run the 3700rpm all day long maintain good operating tempertures and oil pressure if your truck didnt come with the 20 inch wheels you pick up alot with large diameter wheels and tires the truck is capable of 70 put it pushes it pretty much to the max with the factory carburetor governor... Just a FYI from a long term W500 owner of a truck that has been driven up to 800 mile trips and it gets 10 to 12 miles to the gallon depending on speeds driven
