That’s a pain in the a—. So far my modern vehicles have not yet had any problems like that. I have helped people with the opposite problem, corrosion of the ground cables causes lots of issues also.
When I did my WC53 Carryall, I put in an alarm system. It has a gps and cell phone to track and call if the truck moves. It was top of the line 20 years ago. One problem with it, it drains my battery within a week or so. So I have to keep a battery tender on it unless I drive it every couple of days. It even came with a backup battery in case someone disconnected the battery to defeat the alarm.
The solution to put a battery disconnect switch in, but then no alarm which is fine in my garage.
