about 20 years ago I was parking my WC52 in downtown Seattle and an old guy kinda looked like a skinny santa clause, was carrying a big duffle bag on one shoulder, he seemed in real good shape! He saw the truck and got a huge smile and told me that where they beach landed in the Philippines towards the end of the war the terrain was some kind of volcanic bottomless sand/gravel. The only trucks that could make it through was the 3/4 ton Dodges. jeeps, no way and big trucks no way.
