depends on what year the truck is. the grading system didn't start until the 50s or 60s. if you look up the old descriptions in factory manuals they would be equivalent to a modern grade 5 or higher. I re use stock bolts if in good shape. the quality is very good. But in any automotive application always go at least grade 5 or higher. the type of bolts they used on the steering knuckle onM37 and PW has a head that I believe creates a constant vertical tension almost spring like. I have not seen those come loose. i have seen the earlier trucks come loose there with just regular bolts. might jsut be coincidence
