They are heavy, have a poor ride and quite slow. If you were building one with an expedition style camper on the back and planned on using it for truck camping that is one thing. but using it for access is a different matter.
My Carryall goes many places a unimog will not go and we camp in it. But a unimog would make for a lot more room for creature comfort. Comes down to what you want to use the vehicle for.
No clue what the ones built after 2000 are like. Must be more better than the older ones:)
