this happened to me! backed my 70 chevy p.u. up the driveway(slight incline)with a full tank of gas. next day went out to start truck and got a clunk sound. i opened hood to find intake manifold puddled with gas. i don't know why i took out dip stick to check but gas came out! i had it towed to repair shop where they said float was stuck in the up position and overnight i gravity feed the carb which in turn filled engine up till it overflowed. he said i was the luckiest man in the world for not blowing myself up plus the neighbors when i tried to start it!! they changed the oil 3 times letting it idle one hour between changes. rebuilt the carb and the truck went another 7 years till i sold it. best, jim.
