If you are using an ISP (Internet Service Provider) like AOL or Earthlink, they might provide FREE web space to build a web site and post pictures. Ask them. Building a web site and posting pictures to it is not as easy as it might sound, so you would probably need to get some help doing that. Again, call your ISP and ask for help, they can provide step by step help. If you choose to rent some space on another web site, I have seen prices around $35 per year for some sites. Most will restrict you to a certain amount of diskspace to use for pictures.
You dont need a digital camera if you know someone who has a scanner. They can scan any existing picture into digital form and download it to a floppy disk for you. A camera is nice though and its simple to take a picture and have it on your computer 10 minutes later. Before you go out and buy a camera, make sure it will work with your computer. If your computer is new enough to have a USB port on it, it will probably work with the newer cameras. I have a Sony Camera that does NOT have a floppy disk in it and it works just fine. It uses a memory stick and I can take up to 1000 pictures before downloading to the computer. Sorry for the long post. Hope it helps. ]
