Well for one thing, the Chevy CUCV M1008 pickups had 4.56 gearing, and remember, diesels do NOT like high revs! That is why they sound like they will "grenade" at highway speeds. The M1008s are pretty much good to 60 MPH. Also, the slippage from the Automatic and lack of OD did not help matters much either. A turbo would help acceleration, but not crusing speed. These trucks dogged out under load because of they automatic trannies. Also Naturally aspirated Diesel engines are not known for their performance. The Blaziers performed well because the run 3.08 gears THese Blaziers are the M1009's
