RH-thread and LH-thread lug nut question

Whether this is correct or not, my definition of right-hand thread is I turn the nut to the right to tighten it, and left-hand thread is I turn the nut to the left to tighten it.

My 1967 W300 has the RIGHT-hand thread lug nuts on the DRIVER side, and the LEFT-hand lug nuts on the PASSENGER side.

My 1960 Willys CJ5 is just the opposite. It has the RIGHT-hand thread lug nuts on the PASSENGER side, and the LEFT-hand lug nuts on the DRIVER side.

I've never removed any of the wheels on either vehicle, they are just as I bought them.

So what's going on here? Did Dodge and Willys have different theories on which side of the vehicle should have which threads? Or did someone, sometime, put the drums on the wrong side of one of the vehicles. Which is correct, my W300 or the Jeep? On what side are the RH- and LH-threads on your Dodge trucks? Do you think my Jeep is screwed up, or does anyone know if Willys had their own ideas, different from Dodge? Thanks.
