My Cummins 4BT came out of a Chevy bread van. The engine is a 1990 Recon unit that was maintened by a bakery. I took the oil pan off at one point and was amazed at how clean the bottom of the engine was, the Entenman's guys in New York really took good care of it.

The current B3.9-130 (130hp@2500rpm)is rated at 360lb-ft at 1700rpm.

You can hop the four cylinder up the same way that guys hop up the six cylinders (6BTA or ISB5.9) found in the current Dodges. Usually a tweak of the fuel pump and new set of injectors will work wonders. You can also add propane injection... Exhaust gas temperature usually isn't a problem but a pyrometer is good insurance with any diesel.
