So there a good lesson to be learned here...& to be honest, this was the purpose of my trip. When venturing off on a trip...towing or not...I mean you have to prepare yourself for the worst. Like you need to prepare like you are going to have an incident like this. Do you know how many times I've towed a truck on a trailer where the brakes are borderline...or I'm way overloaded, or I'm a few straps short but I'm only going 100 miles & so I'll just take it easy. You gotta prepare for the worst man. That was the reason for buying that heavy trailer. I have friends asking...what do you need that for? That's way overkill! Yes...overkill is good. A few extra dollars for fuel...a few extra dollars for tire wear...it's cheap insurance man. I haul lots of heavy stuff & im always worried if I'm overloaded or if my load is balanced properly...just be safe & not sorry.
Can you tow a power wagon on a 7k trailer??...don't do it!
Yes Ive done it...don't do it!
Can you pull a power wagon with a new f150...probably...if your life's not valuable to you you just go ahead but it's not worth it man.
It's a cheap learning experience here where nobody died. Inertia is a powerful force & it will kill you. These new trucks...I couldn't even feel that trailer back there but it's still 10,000lbs & when things go wrong...you quickly realize that the motor getting you going in a hurry is just a very small part of the equation.
This is my message today...if you have to ask if the load you're pulling will be ok...just pay someone to haul it.
Life's too short for these risks & no matter how careful you are...there's idiots driving on these roads & you're only as safe as the lowest common denominator lol.
