To paraphrase the Theory of Evolution:
Survival of the fittest. The “fittest” organisms (those most suited to their environment) are the ones that reproduce most successfully, and are most likely to pass on their traits to the next generation.
It seems to me from reading your post and those below that we as a society at some point in time started protecting the stupid from themselves and have, in effect, reversed the theory summarized above. I think we have dug the hole to deep and can't get ourselves out of it.
