Greg I had a very big storm last summer and it blew over or broke off around 100 trees on my property and the majority of them large fully mature trees. I have a Stihl 036 Pro and its been a great saw for a long time, well cutting through this storm stuff I decided to switch to a carbide chain and give it a try. Now mind you I am careful with my saw and almost never cut into any dirt or anything that can hurt the sharpness of the chain, so I got the carbide on and started cutting I sawed for 4 days straight for between 4 and 6 hours a day, over all I would bet I have 30 hours cutting time on that chain and I will be starting again in the next few days and I am still on the same carbide chain. They cost about 60.00 for the chain I bought and I will continue to use up all my old chains but my goal is to runn all carbide chains!
