Thank you! Some of you may remember Sid Beck. Sid lived a 15 minute drive from me. I first stopped out at his place to buy parts. I found a warm and gracious man who was happy for my interruptions. He would show me what he was doing in the restoration of his truck, and with genuine interest mentored me in mine. A friendship developed I will never forget. Indeed, my only regret is that I did not stop by more often. One such visit originated out of my realization that my original carburetor was scrap. He went to his parts supply, dug a round and handed me a Danish army rebuilt E7S1. When I mustered up the courage to ask how much this would cost, he replied "$35.00." It wasn't long after that that he came down with the illness that would take him. And yes, I concur, if you find such a person, spend time with them, and don't be shy about it.
