PTO on '66 FFPW

Hi, my new-to-me '66 has a Chelsea S35CDR B1 PTO, with both a front and a rear shaft, and a control cable, no PTO lever on the floor. The pto seems to hang down below almost everything else near it, just waiting to be ripped off by a rock. Is this the OEM unit, or added later? The truck had a second winch mounted just behind the cab for an A-frame at the rear of the flatbed. I have Braden on the front. If this is not stock, would the stock be less exposed and what model would the stock be? I believe I have an NP-420, but have not double checked. Thanks
