i drove my brother inlaws 68 ford 9000 4x4 wrecker during high school with a 6v53! my hearing will never be the same but the old truck had a 5 speed direct drive trans and topped out at 48 mph going up donner summit with a fully loaded semitruck on the hook! daily pan bolt checks were the norm!
