Hi Marty,
Don't worry about that air valve.
In fact you might want to more permently plug those with brass.
As Ryan said it won't allow the front axle to engage in certain gears.
Also remember when you finally get to drive it that 5th gear will be up toward the dash.
4th is normally where 5th would be.
Takes getting used to coming out of 3rd making a U down to 4th.
