I know both Ford and Dodge trucks have death wobble. It’s inherent to the front coil spring suspension. They just can’t keep it fixed in place that tightly. Ford and Dodge deny the issue as it would cost a fortune for them to fix and redesign the front end.

A couple of months before this happened, I checked the front end as I was getting some odd wear on the tire that failed. I even worked with several tire people to figure the wear out. Nobody came up with a reason. I suspect it was a bad tire. I usually my truck loaded with the camper or 5th wheel so I run 13.5 to 24K total weight so I don’t expect the best tire wear especially on the steering tires.

My last truck which was a 2005 had it from time to time. I solved it each time with a new dampener. If your depending on a dampener to keep things stable, to me that indicates an unstable design.
