I let the pros mount and make the initial inflation of my tires. I value my head more than the price of a tire mount. Go find a tire shop that makes their living mounting agricultural or big rig tires. Earlier this year I inquired at a rural GoodYear store if they would work on a Budd split ring wheel. The owner came out to take a look, and said yes. When I picked the wheel up the next day he told me that he used the mounting procedure as a teaching experience for the younger techs. He was glad I stopped in, and glad for the opportunity to teach his guys how to safely mount and dismount tires belonging to the Budd split ring wheel. The guys you are looking for to handle your situation are still out there, they're just not in the places you are accustomed to going.
