New Windshield Regulator

Has anyone else bought one of the new windshield regulators? Mine was binding & causing issues so I decided I'd just order a new one. Seemed like really nice people but they don't work. The banding is a lighter gauge & it's not got as much curvature as the original. Also, I think the original is two layers bonded together... no? Anyway, I installed it...first bump I hit in the truck the band just folded in half & the window slammed shut scratching my window frame.
Not amused.
