IGS-4203B-1 is used on 1946-47 WD20/21 Dodge trucks using a 230 CID engine. It uses a VC-2082R vacuum advance. The distributor bodies between the two distributors may interchange and if so, you could install a shorter shaft something to discuss with who rebuilt the distributor. The IGS is a good upgrade from the stock distributor due to having both manual and vacuum advance, so stick with finding an IGS solution.
This is a common issue when restoring vehicles, parts were mixed and matched to make things work, and may not be correct for the vehicle. It's always a good practice to determine if you have the correct part. Some parts you can get by without doing that, others you can't.
