An M601 is an open cab PW but an open cab PW is not always an M601.

An M601 came with a military tag on the dash showing it's a model M601, was made per the military's specs, and was sold to the US Government.

Open cab export PW trucks have Dodge Truck tags on the firewall showing the Dodge model of the truck, do not match M601 specs, and were sold to foreign countries.

Some may think I'm splitting hairs here but it's the same thing as people calling any 4wd Dodge truck a Power Wagon. There is a difference.
