Actually Bois d' Arc but (called Bodark by the locals) which is plentiful and considered to be a nuisance tree would make an outstanding bed.

A couple of years ago when they were tearing up and replacing the roads in Downtown Dallas they discovered that at one time all of the streets where covered with Bois d' Arc and it was still in pretty good condition even after having been covered for a century.

Bois d' Arc also goes by the name of Osage Orange and out in the sticks some call it Horseapple.
