Off subject- Web hosting???

Does anyone have any advice for hooking up with a web hosting service? I would like to start up a site to share pics and maybe sell a few item's once in awhile but don't want to get caught up in alot of upkeep of the site.
I don't mind updating every week but I'm very new to this so I don't want to get in over my head with tech stuff! I don't think I would need all that much space or MB but I don't have a clue where to start?
Anybody else been through this?
