Let me add, I mean to make a unit for sale, not just for my self alone.
Personally I find the idea of using the original hardware a plus but, I could save possible cost using something else. There seems to be many looking for perfection in most areas and I would assume a retro wiper using all the exterior hareware would makethem happy as well?
I am aware of the vacuum drop under loads but in the past a small electric vacuum pump made for that purpose supplied vacuum when it dropped at the manifold,it might be possible to have them produced again if enough PW owners prefered vacuum wipers?
